Generosity

For the most part, people as a whole lack in this area.  Kids don't have manners anymore.  They want it and they want it now!  Yesterday, we were told that an anonymous person would be providing breakfast for the staff.  I walked into work at 7 and went to the faculty room to put my lunch away.  This anonymous person was just finishing up laying out the food.  He told me that I never saw him.  I knew that this guy was going to be the anonymous person anyway.  Every other staff member knew it too.  This person had a daughter that went to my school last year and is now in the junior high.  This person always comes to us and helps us with everything even though his daughter goes to another school now.  He is always giving up time to be at our school.  He provided breakfast for us around holiday time last year, too.  The breakfast he brought in was bagels, cream cheese, apple cider, orange juice, coffee, yogurt, and oranges.  There was a ton of everything!  He had to have spent well over $100 on all of the food.  In addition to that, he had to go get it all very early in the morning.  He says he does it because of everything we do for the kids.  He does so much for the school, too.  It's amazing how generous some people are.  He absolutely did not have to do this.  Today, many parents brought in cookies and other treats for all the staff members to share.  Those little acts of kindness mean so much to all of us.  I'm so happy to be working with a group of amazing people and work with amazing parents that go above and beyond to make a teachers day better.
